In July and August we specialise in family
activity holidays, both for individual families and groups of
families alike.
Our family summer alpine holiday programme in Morzine is very popular
and well established. Increasingly, we are receiving more and more
enquiries from families seeking an alternative to the traditional
beach holiday that is active, safe and suitable for the whole family.
Let us take the hassle and stress out
of your holiday by tailor-making your stay to your exact requirements.
Choose as many or as few of the activities as you wish, according
to your interests and budget. We can arrange everything for you,
leaving your family to enjoy together all the facilities that Morzine
and the surrounding French Alps have to offer. There is so much
to do for all ages and interests, with the emphasis on fun and
safety. |

Monday: |
Multi
choice day. Either stay in Morzine and enjoy all the
facilities, such as swimming, tennis, mini-golf, horse riding,
ice skating and summer toboggan,
or just browse the shops and boutiques. Alternatively choose one or two of the more challenging
activities for those with extra adrenaline!
Via Ferrata: sensations of rock climbing,
but without the technical difficulty and with the security of
being permanently attached to a fixed cable. It's more of a rock
traverse, sometimes 200m above the ground at the highest point!
Canyoning: follow a mountain river down stream,
abseiling, jumping, swimming crawling and sliding!
Mountainboarding: like snowboarding but on
grass! After an initiation from your instructor, it’s fast
and furious fun all the way. Gain height using the ski lift but
remember to use your brakes!
White water hydrospeeding: you make a one
and a half hour decent with an instructor on a specially designed
surfboard called a hydrospeed. You are issued with a wetsuit,
crash helmet, life jacket and flippers. You actually surf down
the rapids!
White water hot-dogging: descend the river
at the mercy of the rapids in a two or three-man inflatable kayak!
Paragliding: harnessed to your instructor,
descend back to Morzine by parachute from the top of the mountain! |

Tuesday: |
An enjoyable
day’s mountain biking, designed for all
ages and abilities. With our mountain leaders we take the Super
Morzine cable car and chairlift to an altitude of 1,800m. From
here we split into two groups: one taking a medium-level route,
the other tackling more difficult terrain. We will aim for the
groups to meet at a restaurant or the infamous Fantasticable. Two
zip wires, each over 1200m in length, transport you at breathtaking
speeds of up to 100km/hour from one mountain peak to another. You
can just watch or have go!
After lunch there will be time to explore the ancient goat
village of Les Lindarets, before descending back to Morzine via
the Ardent waterfall and a swim at Lake Montriond. Whichever
route we take, you will see some of the most beautiful scenery
imaginable. Downhill most of the way, great fun and a very rewarding
day.

Wednesday: |
Multi
choice day. Perhaps a morning's visit to the Morzine
Savoie market, then on to Les Gets for
an afternoon of devil karting or at the adventure
park! Take the ski lift up with your go-kart or scooter,
then free-wheel down the ski slope. At the adventure park, explore
in the trees under the guiding eyes of instructors. Great thrills
and spills for all the family!
Alternatively, head down to Lake Geneva for unforgettable day
out on Lake Geneva wakeboarding or waterskiing,
with a superb speedboat and qualified instructor EXCLUSIVE to
Simply Morzine. Wakeboarding is similar to waterskiing but on
a ‘snowboard’, and is one of Europe’s fastest
growing sports. Relax on the beach between boat outings for a
day of extreme adrenaline and relaxation in equal measures.

Thursday: |
Morning:
Half-day white water rafting initiation. A descent
down the River Dranse, incorporating some exciting rapids. Your
instructor demonstrates basic paddling techniques and issues you
with life jackets, paddle, wetsuit and crash helmet. You make the
descent in an eight-man raft. Superb fun and very much a team effort.
Enjoyable for all the family! Our rafting company, AN Rafting,
is one of the most experienced in Europe. Alternatively if you
have rafted before, you may wish to try hot-dogging or hydrospeeding instead.
Afternoon: Chill out by the fabulous Evian water park on
the stunning shore of Lake Geneva. There's an Olympic pool, lakeside
diving boards, inflatable water climbing floats, table tennis
and fast flume.

Friday: |
Full
day’s family mountain experience. Unique
to Simply Morzine, this a fun and informative day’s walking
above Morzine and les Gets, and includes a traditional lunch (with
copious amounts of alcohol for the adults!) at a remote alpine
chalet belonging to the parents of our French guide.
The day is aimed at all the family and designed
both as an enjoyable walk, and as a discovery of the culture,
cuisine, flora and fauna of the local area. At lunch we are welcomed
to a chalet d’Alpage, and will be treated to a Savoyard
mountain meal, soft drinks/wine and not forgetting the local
home-brewed schnapps! On a clear day there are stunning views
over to Mont Blanc. A fun, convivial and unforgettable end to
the week.
