We appreciate the work involved and expense incurred in organising a winter or summer alpine holiday. As such, we aim to help and advise on all aspects, and where possible, arrange on your behalf. Travel - road

Morzine is one of the closest and easily reached alpine resorts from the UK. Driving to the resort is very simple. There is motorway from Calais to within 30km of Morzine. The 535-mile journey can be completed in approximately eight to nine hours. Allow approximately £40 each way for road tolls. The choice for crossing the channel lies between the ferry companies and Eurotunnel. The main operators are:

The journey can be completed in a day or if you wish to stop over to break the journey, there are numerous forms of accommodation close to the motorway to suit different budgets. The Holiday Inn at Troyes is approximately half way to Morzine from Calais (tel 0033 325438080). The Ibis Hotel at Bourg en Bresse is two hours from Morzine (tel 0033 474223080). The Ibis Hotel at Archamps is one hour from Morzine (tel 0033 450953818). If you drive to the resort, we will send you detailed directions of the best route from Calais to your accommodation.

Travel - air

At little over an hour's drive, Morzine is one of the closest alpine resorts to Geneva airport. Flight times from the UK and Ireland are approximately one hour and 15-45 minutes. The following airlines fly to Geneva:

For self-catered groups, we make a charge of £45 per person return for Geneva airport-Morzine transfers if required, minimum four persons.

Insurance

Under the new FSA regulations we are no longer able to arrange travel insurance for our guests as part of our holiday package. However, as Simply Morzine is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Fogg Travel Insurance Services Limited who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), we are able to recommend to Fogg Travel, who we have used for over 15 years. Fogg have been winter travel insurance specialists for over 25 years and cover the alpine and freestyle British Ski Teams.

Please ensure you read your insurance policy as soon as you receive it and take it on holiday with you. It is your responsiblity to ensure the insurance cover you purchase is suitable and adequate for your particular requirements and in particular if taking part in any of our activities (whether it is the policy we recommend, or another one). Ski & snowboard lessons

Morzine is very fortunate to have 3 excellent ski/snowboard schools, all of whom look after Simply Morzine guests very well. We use a successful combination of the Ecole du Ski Français (ESF) and the British Alpine Ski & Snowboard School (BASS). We are aware of the importance of quality lessons where learning is fun and exhilarating and moves your snow sport on to a new level. No more bad experiences in ski school!

The ESF are the main French national ski school. They offer traditional 6 half-day group as well as private lessons. The quality of instruction is generally high, and represents excellent value for money - www.esf-morzine.com

BASS are at the forefront of ski tuition, more expensive but with a reputation for high-quality and progressive teaching in small groups of similar ability. Pre-booking is essential - www.britishskischool.com

Childcare

Morzine has excellent childcare facilities. Whilst you ski your children can be cared for in a happy, safe environment by qualified and experienced staff.

Lift passes

To save you considerable time upon arrival and for your convenience we can arrange your lift pass for you in advance. These should be paid for upon arrival in resort by credit card or Euros cash. There is a local Morzine/Les Gets pass and a full Portes du Soleil pass.

Special ski courses

Mike Hammond's personal performance courses are recommended for private groups who have reached a good and similar level of skiing, but wish to progress in order to confidently ski the whole mountain in all conditions - www.skiskills.co.uk

Equipment hire

We have an excellent arrangement with our nearby ski shop and pre-booking is not necessary. Felix Ski have been chosen for their high standard and friendly service. You can leave your equipment overnight at the shop. They have a vast selection of all the latest equipment for all snowsports. All Simply Morzine guests benefit from a 10% discount.
